Today I watched a video by a youtube site called ninteenpercent it was about beyonce's new song "Run The World". I think the woman's name was Amanda basically she was just talking about how the video does not mean anything because "Woman Don't Run The World".If woman ran the world they wouldn't get disrespected in movies video's and in business. Some facts that she made where the fact that men make more money then woman.
IN domestice violence relationships 90% of the abused party are women, and don't even get me started on how the media & hip hop portray women on the daily.

This video made,145,000 hits in 4 days ... I believe that people see this video because they like what she has to say. I believe that woman could do anything they put there minds too. They just have to fine there inner power.

HER CHANNEL IS CALLED NINETEEN PERCENT AND IT'S BASED ON BEYONCE'S NEW HIT SINGLE "RUN THE WORLD GURLS" AND THIS VIDEO HAS 145,000 HITS AND HAS ONLY BEEN OUT FOR 4 DAYS. WOW! THE POINT OF THIS VIDEO IS TO MAKE WOMEN AND YOUNG GURLS DO SOME CRITICAL THINKING ABOUT THE WORDS BEHIND THE SONG. SHE STATED THAT 90% OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS BASED ON MALE TO FEMALE VIOLENCE. A MALE GETS PAID 67% MORE ON A DOLLER THAN A FEMALES PAYCHECK. BEYONCE VERSE "DISRESPECT US NO THEY WONT" BUT DR. DRE VERSE "BITCHES AINT NOTHING BUT HOES AND TRICKS" ?? Today we watched a you-tube video about a lady that re-made beyonce's Music video "Girl Runs the World" talking about how beyonce is putting the wrong message out there to other women. Her point was basically that women are not running the world, they are gettin disrespected by men everyday. Statistics show that men get paid 67% more on the dollar then women. How in the South there was a law passed for 'COCK fights" but the law for domestic violence didnt get passed. The youtube video had more the 145,000 views and its been up for only four days. it shows how interesting that the video is & how she telking it how it is, keeping realistic. so many people viewed it because its talking beyonce And people want to know why she would talk bad about beyonce!

Today we watched a video about lil b.It was done by a women named Jazmyne and she recieved 660 views in 3 weeks. It was very shocking to me especially the part where he said''F nikki minaj im the baddest b*#%h. Anyway, so while performing at Coachella in indigo,california lil b quoted ''Im ngoing to do the most controversial thing in hip-hop'','' Im going to show y'all that words dont mean sh*t. I'm going to make an album called ''Im Gay''. This really shocked me when i seen this video. But the reason for him doing this is to get publicity to get famous. And it actually worked. My personal opinion i think he's gay on the under.

The point of this documentry was to show that rappers can get money from saying anything. Soceity has taught us that not putting your true talent and effort into what you really want to acheive you can take tha easy way out and start a new dumb saying; such as Nicki Minaj saying she's barbie and creating the cooking dance from Lil B! I agreed with the way she tried to say that Lil B was promoting himself by saying he was gay because that is what most artists do now a days; like Rebecca Black singing about Friday and the Chicken Noodle Soup song. The video has 660 views and its been up about 3weeks. I did not agree on anything because soceity teaches us to do crazy things in order to get money fast! Some things that he said to get attention was "If he didn't get on a track with Kanya West, then he would fuck him in the ass," and "If he did not sell out of albums, he would fuck his own mom!" Doing crazy things like this got him attention and publicity from record labels, different artists, and the media in general.

So my take on this documentary is that the media will talk about anything . You don't even need talent anymore hip hop is being taken over by catchy phrases and silly lyrics.Lil b is just one example on how the media and how easily people are influenced with nonsense.basically the overall point was to show that all you need is a good beat a catchy phrase and you might get lucky, if you market and promote your self in the right way .my feeling is that we as a hip hop nation have lost the sense of real good music "REAL HIP HOP" and now we just have the silly garbage just because its there. this is not hip hop . I think maybe his ideal so naming his album I'm gay and backing the lesbian and gay community , is in essence a good thing just to show support and change the label that you have to be a gangster rapper to become to be famous .Its the way that he's going about it that is redundant .For example looks at nicki minaji , solier boy, and the new boys , with that said all its really doing is inviting more people to create phoney music to make poblisity for them self . And who whats to keep hearing this. This vlog was created by Jazymne three weeks ago and now has a total of 6,000 views. I think it means that people are interested in hearing opposite perspectives.

Young families events and mother's day

The event was a amizing expriences for me. Being in a event like this made me very happy because I felt that i was making a differnces for people. I loved seeing people with there family's having a good time .I do believe that the more events we make for our community we will get in the hearts of more people.This YFP event proves there are people that do care.

Mother's day was amizing to me . I speed time with my family and friend . being around the people that love me and support me was wonderful . Going with my baby girl was so much fun because this is something new to me this experinces was one of my best moments in life .. So to all da mom's out there Happy Mother's and wish you the best in life.

Mothers' day event

My name is Alexis & I helped promote/run the Mother's/Father's Day event. I was very happy with the outcome. There were a lot of kids with happy face-painted smiles. I was helping run the jumpers. There was a big flow of kids & then a race. I participated and had FUN.

For Mother's Day I took my mom out to eat. She wanted Pupusas. Then afterward we went to her mother's house And ate MORE. Mother's day was kicked back. Nothing special, nothing boring.

The mothers day event that the sister's rising girls did outreach for turned out to be a good event. We did a sample of our play based on sisterhood and i thought i was going to be nervous but it turned out better than i thought. It was less people than i thought it was but it was still cool. I invited my mom,sister,brother,niece,nephew,and last but never the least my son was there. The kids enjoyed the jumpers and the face painting and t-shirt drawings.That was cute how the sapphire girls where doing the kids activities my family was telling me that they really enjoyed the celebration for mothers as well as fathers,aunties,uncles. At closing their was a little girl on stage singin ''pretty boy swag'' i thought that was cute, then my little niece was like: ''auntie i want to say something'', so she got up on stage and started singin '' i whip my hair back and forth,i whip my hair back an forth'', i thought that was the cutest thing of the day the all the kids started dancing. Overall the event was great.

Young Families Day Celebration

The Young Families Day Celebration was surely a windy success . i had a great time supervising the obstacle court . My little brother also attented the celebration with me and he enjoyed himself so much he said he loved all the activities and also was able to make a card for his mom and dad .The wind was out a little bit but it couldn't stop our celebration. it was nice to see some young familes come out to celebrate the love of family and honoring all mothers i hope all mothers enjoyed themselves and felt the love of The Center for Young Women's Development .

The Mother's DAy Celebration-Dominique 20

Mothers day celebration was an event held for young families that need support in parenting or need resources for employement and education. Sister's rising helped coordinate and event & acted out our theatre piece about "Sisterhood". It was a very succesfull event , many people showed up & alot of single families were there too. there was arts & crafts for kids, three jumpers that my niece & nephew enjoyed. it was so nice seeing kids gettin on stage dancing to all the songs.

On that sunday My granny went to church before i even woke up , but when she came back i had cleaned the house & had her flowers & a card waiting for her in her room. Mother's day was different for me this year because i actually got to take my mom & granny out with my own money and treat them to whatever they wanted.

MOTHERS DAY

SOOO.. ITS MOTHERS DAY CELEBRATION TURNED OUT TO BE ALOT BETTER THAN I THOUGHT. THE DAY WAS KINDA WINDY BUT WE DIDNT LET THAT GET IN OUR WAY. AS THE DAY WENT ABOUT MORE FAMILIES WERE SHOWIN UP. WE PRACTICED OUR PLAY AND IT WASNT SO BAD AS MANY OF US THOUGHT IT WAS. ANY WAY, MY SISTERS SHOWED UP WITH MA NIECES AND CUZZIN AND I WAS GLAD TO HAVE THEM THERE FOR SUPPORT AND ALSO TO SHARE THIS EXPERIENCE WITH. I WANTED FOR MY MOTHER TO BE THERE BEING THAT IT WAS ALSO HER BIRTHDAY BUT SHE HAD OTHER PLANS SO I GUESS IT WAS OK. I WROTE A MOTHERS DAY POEM AND WILLING SHARED MY WORK AT THE MOTHERS DAY CELEBRATION FOR SPOKEN WORD. I STARTED OUT WITH A MOTHERS DAY PRAYER. I WAS ALSO GLAD I HAD ONE OF MY SISTERS FRM SISTERS RISING COME UP ON THE STAGE WITH ME FOR SUPPORT BECAUSE I WAS KINDA SHY IN READING INFORNT OF SOO MANY PEOPLE. IT WENT BETTER THAN I ASSUMED IT WAS. I HAD SUPPORT FROM ALL THE STAFF AND OTHER SISTERS RISING INTERNS SO IT MADE ME THAT MUCH MORE MOTIVATED TO BREAK MY FEAR IN PUBLIC SPEAKING. I ENJOYED BEING AROUND ALL THESE MOTHERS EVEN THOUGH MINES WASNT THERE BECAUSE I STILL FELT AS IF SHE WAS THERE PERSONALLY BY THE ENERGY FROM ALL THE OTHER YOUNG MOTHERS. AFTER THE CELEBRATION I WENT TO MY MOMS HOUSE AND RELAXED TO GET OUT THE SUN. (I GOTTS SUN BURN TOO HEHE) LATER ON THAT NIGHT ME AND MY FAMILY WENT OUT TO BUCCA FOR DINNER. I HAD FUN. THE WAITER WAS POLITE AND FUNNY. FOR A MOMENT I LOOKED AROUND THE TABLE AT SOO MANY SMILES AND THOUGHT TO MASELF. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME THAT IVE SEEN MY FAMILY THIS HAPPY ON MOTHERS DAY. I HOPE MY MOM FELT APPRICIATED FOR ALL THAT SHE HAS DONE FOR THE FAMILY. SHE WAS SURROUNDED BY ALL 5 OF HER KIDS AND ALL HER GRANDCHILDREN. WE ATE AND JOKED AROUND ALL NIGHT. I WAS GLAD FOR THIS MOMENT NO FIGHTS NO ARGUEMENTS JUS LAUGHS AND SMILES. ILL ALWAYS APPRICIATE THIS MOMENT FOR WHAT IT TRUELY WAS.. PURE LOVE & HAPPINESS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE ON MOTHERS DAY!! ----- sigin out ------ ESHH <3

Young Families Day Event!

My Experience @Our young families day event was better then i thought it would be. A lot of people showed up the children had a lot of fun the performances and activities for families to enjoy with there little ones were nice the food was good and it was enough for everyone who showed up. We had little down falls such as the weather and little malfunction but all around the event was good!

Mother's Day Celebration-Damena 16

The Mother's Day Celebration turned out good. There were a lot of resources for different types of people. We had shirts for the children to draw on about what they love about their family and jumpers for them to play in. We had many skits reflecting relatable issues such as sisterhood and young mother's who aren't educated about their rights when pregnant! It turned out great because we got it all together as a group and worked hard to put on a excellent event. I though a lot of people were going to come, but it was a good amount to support our program. The food was of course delicious but everything was blowing everywhere.

On Mother's Day, I woke up and gave my mom the present I bought her. It was a Besty Johnson purse and she loved it because it was pink and black! Then around three o'clock me and my family started to get ready and go out to eat. We went to eat at Benihana's in Japan Town. We met my older sister there with her husband. I ordered the Falemon Steak Trio and we took lots of pictures. It was fun because it was the first time I actually kicked back with my family without my friend.
